Bordeaux Métropole Marathon

This annual nocturnal marathon crosses through several towns of the Bordeaux metropolitan area as well as Bordeaux city centre listed a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Stone Bridge, the Cailhau Gateway, the St. Michael Basilica... both runners and spectators will enjoy an excellent route steeped in history. While a sporting event, the Marathon is also a festive and popular occasion with a circuit dotted with activities.

Bordeaux Wine Festival

The leading wine tourism event in Europe, a four-day biennial features a wine route, live performances and numerous activities along Bordeaux's waterfront. In 2018, to celebrate its 20th anniversary, the wine festival will also welcome a prestigious maritime event, the Biscay Tall Ships Regatta.

Opening of the Maritime and Naval Museum

The Maritime and Naval Museum will open in the Bassins à Flot district of Bordeaux in 2018. This will enable the city to reclaim its maritime history - both locally and internationally - not only to revive the memory, but also to focus on the oceans of the future.

Un Violon sur le Sable

Un Violon sur le Sable is a key event of the tourist season in Royan, which takes place at La Grande Conche beach. This music festival is an opportunity for everybody to sit in the sand, facing the ocean, and take a chance to enjoy the most beautiful classical songs ever heard in this place.

Libourne Fest’arts Street Art Festival

Dedicated to street arts, this annual event puts the spotlight on street theatre, circus, dance, theatre, magic and music. Tens of thousands of spectators arrive from throughout the region to attend the performances provided by thirty artistic companies.

Estuary Medieval Festival

The Estuary «Médiévales» is a grand festival where visitors travel back to the Middle Ages. Held every two years in Bourg-sur-Gironde, the festival hosts craft fair, traditional trade workshops and many other activities throughout the city.

Médoc Marathon

Every October for over thirty years, thousands of athletes participate in the Médoc Marathon in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The runners, in fancy dress for the occasion, run through the vineyards and discover the famous wine appellations of Saint-Julien, Pauillac, Saint-Estèphe and Haut-Médoc.

Bordeaux River Festival

Liners in stopover, river outings and shuttles, a swim across the river Garonne and regattas... plenty to dip your toe in at this splendid biennial. A popular festival during which the many visitors can savour the gastronomy and products of the river during the mild days of late spring.

Grands Crus Weekend

For over 10 years, the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux offers wine enthusiasts an exceptional weekend. In the heart of Bordeaux, visitors are invited to sample more than 120 great wines of Bordeaux while chatting with landowners and wine experts.

Agora 2019 Biennial of Architecture, Town Planning and Design, takes place in September throughout the city of Bordeaux. This major event is brings together cultural professionals, the general public and students around the theme of "Landscapes". The director of this latest edition is Bas Smets, engineer and landscape architect of international renown.
